Kings Cross TV is an experiment in creating a local internet TV station for free. It is an entirely amateur effort so bear with me.
What will go on the site
We aim to host or link to pretty well anything to do with Kings Cross and this general bit of North London and give some very basic advice if someone wants help in making a local video. If you have something on your memory stick or a tape that you want to share with the Kings Cross community see the advice here on how to do it.
If you want to make a video about a local issue from your own perspective then we are happy to host that (this includes material from local politicians).
Comments policy
Comments are welcome. If you want to rant go somewhere else. Pretty much anything else i shall publish.
Who is this?
The site was set up by William Perrin who also set up the Kings Cross Environment website and 'I Love Kings Cross!' facebook group. Stefan Schulte convinced me to do it.
What is the technology?
Video is hosted in YouTube and embedded in a Typepad blog. This is very easy to do, easier than composing a PowerPoint presentation. YouTube is free and i pay about £8 a month for Typepad. I shoot stuff on either a phone, digital camera or a cheap camcorder and edit it badly in Adobe Premiere Elements on a simple laptop.
